The 2021 Sussex Heritage Trust Awards ceremony took place on 15 September at Pangdean Old Barn, Pyecombe.
Huge congratulations to our Senior Partner, Jane Jones-Warner, who was announced as the 2021 Sussex Heritage Trust Person of the Year. This accolade is awarded in recognition of one person’s outstanding commitment to the heritage of Sussex. Presenting the award, Chairman of the Sussex Heritage Trust, Simon Knight said:
“There is no doubt Jane’s extraordinary contribution to heritage in Sussex with a career spanning 30 years focusing on building conservation… I am absolutely delighted to recognise Jane’s career and passion for heritage by acknowledging her as Sussex Heritage Person of the Year”.
Firstly, St Nicholas Church, Arundel was recognised in the Ecclesiastical Building Award category with the judges commenting: “A great effort to safeguard the historic fabric for future generations”.
Secondly, in the Small Scale Residential Award category, Lurgashall Village Shop was acknowledged by the judges as a “scheme (which) contributes greatly to the village community and has secured the shop for the foreseeable future. The project was well supported by Chichester DC, the Princes Countryside Trust and local community”.
The annual Awards ‘are designed to recognise and reward the highest quality conservation, restoration and good design of newly built projects while encouraging the use of traditional skills and crafts’.
